This self-paced DOT Urine Drug Testing Collector Training is designed to provide comprehensive instruction on federally regulated urine collection procedures in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40. The training covers the full DOT collection process, including regulatory requirements, test types, roles and responsibilities, Chain of Custody Form completion, pre-collection procedures, urine specimen collection, shy bladder and refusal situations, observed collections, post-collection handling, shipping, and recordkeeping. Participants will gain a clear understanding of what DOT urine drug testing is, why it exists, and how to perform collections correctly and professionally. This course focuses on proper procedure, documentation, and compliance boundaries required when working with DOT-regulated employers and clients. This program includes knowledge checks and a final exam to confirm understanding of DOT collection procedures. Completion of this training provides the technical education required for DOT urine collection. Please note: 49 CFR Part 40 also requires new collectors to successfully complete five consecutive error-free mock collections to be considered fully qualified.
